Right-back Darmian was a regular for the Red Devils under Louis van Gaal last season.
But he's made just one appearance this term and slipped behind Antonio Valencia and Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the pecking order.
But it appears Blues boss Conte is keen to work with the 26-year-old again, after the pair were together with the Italian national team.

According to Italian outlet Passione Inter, Darmian is looking to leave and Conte has disturbed Inter's attempts by registering his interest.
The report says the Serie A side are reluctant to enter into a transfer battle for Darmian which could leave Chelsea free to sign the player, should United be prepared to sell.
However, Jose Mourinho's acrimonious split from Chelsea last season could complicate matters.
