Arsene Wenger - Spotlight on
Conte, who took charge at Chelsea in the summer, said it was ‘fantastic’ to see a manager last so long at a club as Wenger approaches 20 years at Arsenal.
While Wenger’s old foe Jose Mourinho is the subject of a new biography serialised in the Daily Mail which details alleged conversations with a football journalist.
One angry exchange surrounding Wenger reportedly ended with Mourinho saying: "I will find him one day outside a football pitch and I will break his face."
But Conte has refused to comment on the bitter rivalry - as did Wenger when questioned earlier today - and instead opted to compliment the Frenchman on his lengthy spell at the north London club.
“I think that Arsenal have a good story. It’s an important team,” Conte said. “I don’t want to go into a situation of Wenger or Mourinho.
Antonio Conte full of praise for Arsene Wenger
“I think that Wenger is doing a good job. It’s fantastic if somebody is able to stay for 20 years in one club.
“I think that there is satisfaction in both sides. Sometimes I think that it’s important for the manager to know that he doesn’t always have to win, lose or draw.
“Sometimes if you judge only for the wins, you make a big mistake and you pay for this in the future.”
