City want Sanchez
Manchester City want to sign Alexis Sanchez, Express Sport understands.
City signed Brazilian forward Gabreil Jesus before the transfer deadline this summer but manager Pep Guardiola is seeking more recruits up front.
And the boss is monitoring Sanchez’s contract negotiations with Arsenal in case there is an opportunity to land the Chile international.
Alexis Sanchez is yet to sign a contract extension at Arsenal
Walcott backed
Arsene Wenger has backed Theo Walcott to continue his fine form for Arsenal after the England international starred in yesterday’s 4-1 win over Hull.
Walcott scored one goal and was involved in two others during the routine victory.
“With the quality of his runs, he is very dangerous,” Wenger said.
“He is efficient. That is what we want.
“I look at the overall balance of the team and we need players who go behind defenders.
“When you have someone who goes in behind, it helps you a lot.”
Griezmann and Simeone hope
Arsenal could land both Diego Simeone and Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer.
That is according to the Daily Star Sunday, who claim the Gunners are ready to ballet with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City for striker Griezmann.
The France star is one of the most wanted players in Europe right now and the report claims he could be available for £80million.
Express Sport understands Chelsea are keen on seeking the player. The Blues signed Michy Batshuayi this summer but boss Antonio Conte wants to add more firepower to his squad to support Diego Costa.
Simeone and Griezmann (right) could both supposedly join Arsenal
United and City will also be contenders for 25-year-old Griezmann, who starred at Euro 2016 this summer.
But Arsenal may have an advantage if they also secure Simeone’s arrival as manager.
Simeone is a candidate to replace Wenger at the end of the season when the Frenchman’s contract expires.
The Atletico boss recently reduced the length of his contract in Spain from four years down to two
And that would mean Arsenal paying a reduced compensation fee if they decided to move for Simone this summer.
