Chelsea winger seals Premier League switch: Jose Mourinho signed him
KENEDY has joined Watford for the rest of the season on loan.
Kenedy appeared at left-back for much of the season last year
The Chelsea winger made 20 appearances for the Blues last season having signed from Brazilian side Fluminese for £6.7million.
Jose Mourinho handed him his debut against Crystal Palace at left-back just a week after signing but he has apparently not made the same impression on new boss Antonio Conte.
The 20-year-old has signed a deal with Watford which will see him go out on loan until the end of the season in an effort to secure more first-team football.
While Kenedy arrived at the club as a winger he was often deployed in the full-back position and might have seen Conte's arrival, and his potential deployment at wing-back, as something that might have suited him.
However, Chelsea are said to be finalising a £20m move for Fiorentina's Marcos Alonso who would be a more experienced selection at left-back.
Alonso started his career with Real Madrid before moving to Bolton in 2010.
He then switched to Fiorentina but returned to England on loan at Sunderland, meaning he represents a defender with significant Premier League experience.
Kenedy will therefore hope to replicate the success of 2015/16 loanee Nathan Ake who made his name at left-back at Watford, although he has now been loaned out again to Bournemouth.
