West Brom stun Arsenal by slapping £25m price tag on Evans as pressure builds on Wenger
WEST BROM have told Arsenal to forget about Jonny Evans - unless they’re willing to pay more than £25million.
Arsenal are considering a move for Jonny Evans
Arsenal are facing a fight to bolster their defence before next week’s transfer deadline.
Valencia’s Shkodran Mustafi remains Arsene Wenger’s top target but the deal appears to be fading.
Valencia were willing to do business for £25m but Arsenal’s delay has seen them ramp up the price to close to £50m.
Mustafi has a release clause believed to be around £43m and they are now ready to hold onto him unless that is met.
Wenger is looking at other options including Evans and Southampton’s Jose Fonte, who is also wanted by Manchester United.
But West Brom have told the Gunners to forget about Evans this summer and have slapped a £25m price tag on his head, according to the Telegraph.
Arsenal fans argue amongst themselves after Liverpool defeat
Evans, 28, joined the Baggies from Manchester United in 2015 for £6m.

He remains confident of doing a deal for a defender but time is running out in the window.
