Mauro Icardi drops Inter Milan contract hint: Arsenal snubbed for £82,000-a-week deal
MAURO ICARDI has sent a message to Inter Milan fans that all but confirms he will sign a new contract at the club.
Maruo Icardi was one of a number of strikers on Arsenal's radar
Arsenal are said to have pushed hard to sign striker Icardi, with claims that they twice met with his wife and agent to discuss a deal.
But the Gunners appear to have fallen short despite being willing to pay Icardi £5.8million a season at the Emirates.
“New objectives, but always with the same love for this shirt for three years.. And for many more…” Icardi tweeted alongside a picture of him in an Inter shirt.

Nara reportedly flew to London on two occasions to speaks to Gunners officials.
But those discusses appear to have come to nothing, with the Argentina international now supposedly set to pledge his future to the Serie A side.
As for Arsenal, they have already failed in their attempts to land Jamie Vardy and Alexandre Lacazette this summer.
Arsenal & West Ham target Mauro Icardi in action
Manager Arsene Wenger yesterday vowed to sign new players but will not waste cash just to please the fans.
"If we find the right player we will not be reluctant to spend big," he said.
"If I just bought someone for £45m will I have done well?"
"I will spend £300m if I find the right player, and we have £300m. But we also have 600 employees and we need to have a responsible attitude as well."
