Man United defender wanted by Stoke: Loan deal eyed with ace not in Mourinho's plans
PHIL JONES is reportedly a target for Stoke this summer with his Manchester United future uncertain.
Phil Jones made just 10 Premier League appearances last season for Manchester United
The 24-year-old is not part of new boss Jose Mourinho's plans going forward.
And following Jones' injury problems last season at Old Trafford, United could be open to letting him leave.
According to The Sun, Mark Hughes wants to bring the England international to Stoke on loan.
A move to the Britannia Stadium may appeal to Jones who is set to lack regular game time at United this term.
Mourinho has brought in £30million signing Eric Bailly at centre-half to partner Chris Smalling, while Daley Blind has featured in United's opening two Premier League games.
Ex-Blackburn man Jones, who cost £16.5m back in 2011, has shown his versatility in the past by playing right-back, but Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian are preferred in that role.
