Bold claims from Spain say Euro club have begun negotiations to sign Arsenal star for £69m
INTER MILAN have launched a shock move to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, according to bold claims from Spain.
Alexis Sanchez was not himself during Arsenal's 4-3 defeat to Liverpool
Spanish transfer website believe Inter Milan want Sanchez
Spanish website Fichajes say Serie A club Inter want to take advantage of Sanchez’s stalling contract talks at Arsenal.
Inter boss Frank de Boer is said to be a big fan of the Chile international, who has less than two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates.
And according to Fichajes, Inter are hopeful of luring Sanchez back to Italy before the transfer deadline closes on August 31.
Sanchez was not himself during Arsenal's 4-3 defeat to Liverpool yesterday
It is said Inter - who were recently taken over by a Chinese consortium - have begun negotiations and could make a £69million bid (€80m).
Apparently they are willing to pay Sanchez €8m a year, or £133,000 a week, to make him the league’s highest-paid player.
Arsenal are desperate not to sell Sanchez, but boss Arsene Wenger admitted on Friday there was no update on his or team-mate Mesut Ozil’s contract talks.
"We keep that internally and make progress all the time but it is not always a quick process,” Wenger said.
"They still have two years contract too, there’s no urgency as well.
"There’s no reason for Arsenal fans to be concerned."
When asked if he was confident the deals would be signed, Wenger replied: "I think so."
Sanchez started up front during Arsenal’s 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool yesterday, while Ozil was rested after only returning to training last week following his exploits at Euro 2016 with Germany.
