Juventus plot move for PSG star: Deal hinges on Paul Pogba’s £112m Man United transfer
JUVENTUS will reportedly consider moving for Blaise Matuidi should Paul Pogba join Manchester United.
Blaise Matuidi - 5 things you need to know
The 29-year-old has been a mainstay in Paris Saint-Germain's side and played a crucial part in their title-winning success last season.
But the arrival of manager Unai Emery and the signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak from Sevilla has cast Matuidi's future into doubt.
And website France Football claim the Italian champions will consider moving for Matuidi if Pogba secures a return to Old Trafford.
Juventus are reportedly considering Blaise Matuidi as Paul Pogba's replacement
Express Sport understands United have agreed a world-record fee of £112million for Pogba, who is poised to sign a £275,000-a-week deal to become Jose Mourinho’s fourth summer signing.
It is understood the transfer for Pogba to join United could be completed before the Community Shield.
And should this happen Juve could act swiftly to secure Matuidi’s signature, with his agent Mino Raiola apparently informing his client of the Serie A side’s future intentions.
Matuidi, who is contracted to PSG until June 2018, has also been attracting interest from United.
It is believed Mourinho has identified the France international - along with Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic - as an alternative option to Pogba if a deal continues to stall.
The report adds Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Matuidi.
