Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez eyes reunion with striker: He signed him at Liverpool
PETER CROUCH is reportedly a target for Newcastle this summer.
Benitez signed Crouch in 2005 after winning the Champions League
Rafa Benitez has already been busy in the summer transfer window in preparation for his first ever foray in the Championship.
Benitez took over the stricken club in March but was unable to save them from relegation.
However, the 56-year-old agreed to stay at Newcastle to help them bounce back from the second tier of English football.
The Spanish boss believes the former England man could prove to be the perfect foil to former Crystal Palace forward Gayle.
The move would see Crouch drop down from Premier League club Stoke but the Magpies would be able to offer him more game-time after he only managed four starts in the league last season.
