Chelsea rival Arsenal for £23m midfielder: Blues nearly signed him last summer
CHELSEA have joined the chase for Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, according to reports.
Arda Turan is now on Chelsea's radar too
Arsene Wenger has made it a priority to bring a top-class midfielder to the Emirates this summer, even though they have signed Granit Xhaka.
Chelsea meanwhile, are keen to strengthen their midfield, as Antonio Conte seeks to turn his squad into title challengers.
Reports earlier today suggested the Gunners are considering a £23million bid for the Barca player, despite the fact he only moved to the Nou Camp last summer for £35m.
But according to Spanish paper Sport, Turan's future with the Catalan giants is far from certain.
The report suggests that should a big money offer come in, then Turan could well leave.
The 29-year-old was on Chelsea's radar last summer when he was at Atletico Madrid and came close to moving to Stamford Bridge.
Arda Turan - 5 things you need to know
Should a deal come off, Diego Costa would be pleased to have a familiar face around the club.
Turkish clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have also been credited with an interest.
Chelsea will be hoping for a strong start to their Premier League campaign next month, after they began the last one poorly and finished in 10th spot.
