Paul Pogba to Man United boost: Real Madrid pull out of race to sign £105m Juventus star
MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Juventus star Paul Pogba, according to reports.
Manchester United are now the clear front-runners to sign Paul Pogba
The 23-year-old, who is currently on international duty with France at Euro 2016, has been heavily linked with a move away from Juve this summer with United and Real Madrid showing an interest.
However, Sky Sports claim Jose Mourinho has been handed a clear path to sign Pogba after Real decided to end their interest in the midfielder due to financial reasons.
It is claimed the reported fee of £100million, which could rise to £105m when add-ons and related bonuses are taken into consideration, is too much for Real.
This plays into United's hands with their superior financial strength giving them the edge in negotiations with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola.
Paul Pogba - 5 things you need to know
Express Sport understand Mourinho has been handed a £200m transfer kitty and will look to use these funds to land Pogba.
It is also understood Juan Mata is set to be dumped by Mourinho for a second time to make room for Pogba after he was given the chop by the 53-year-old when he was at Chelsea.
Further reports from The Sun suggest up to eight players will be axed to facilitate a move for Pogba, with Mourinho looking to work with a core of just 22 players.
