Arsenal have entered the race to sign Koln left-back Jonas Hector
The 26-year-old is currently on international duty with Germany and has played a key part in their progress at Euro 2016, scoring their winning penalty against Italy to secure a place in the semi-finals.
Hector, who is likely to feature for Joachim Low's side in their crunch clash with hosts France tonight (8pm), has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with Liverpool and Tottenham reportedly showing an interest.
He is contracted to Koln until 2018 but is expected to leave this summer, with the club said to be looking for a fee of around £17million.
And website Kick Off claim the Gunners have now emerged as potential suitors for Hector.
Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his defensive ranks ahead of the new season and could move for Hector to provide competition for Nacho Monreal at the Emirates.
This will come as a blow for Liverpool who have earmarked the defender as a potential replacement for Alberto Moreno.
