Former Liverpool striker: This is why Sadio Mane can be a hit for Jurgen Klopp's Reds
NEIL MELLOR believes Sadio Mane's acceleration is what sets him apart from other players.
Mellor thinks Mane can provide an extra dimension to Liverpool's attack
Liverpool confirmed the £30million signing of Mane from Southampton on Tuesday, the first major signing of the Jurgen Klopp era.
And Mellor, who spent four years at Anfield, does not think the Reds have overpaid for the Senegal international.
"You look at Mane and you think he's certainly going to be a goal threat," Mellor said.
"I think it's an exciting signing, he's a player who is very capable in the final third and we've seen glimpses of him producing [that] at Southampton," Mellor added.
"You just get the feeling, with him arriving at Liverpool with somebody like Jürgen Klopp, who really can get the best out of players, it's quite exciting to think of his potential.
"We've seen glimpses of him but there's potential to see a little bit more consistency because in the final third he can really be the difference."
