MIKEL ARTETA has reportedly snubbed an offer to coach at Tottenham to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City instead - and his first duty could be in the transfer market.

The Arsenal midfielder will retire at the end of the month when he contract at the Emirates expires.
It was thought he would accept a coaching role at Arsenal after captaining the club for the past two years.
But the Daily Mirror claim an offer to work alongside Guardiola at City has instead been accepted.

The 34-year-old's first task could reportedly be to help City sign John Stones from Everton.
Arteta played for the Toffees for six years before moving to north London in 2011 and the Daily Mirror claim his contacts could help in transfer negotiations.
Guardiola is said to be keen on landing Stones, 22, after missing out on Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte.
