Man United dealt blow in race for Brazil international as Napoli confirm bid
NAPOLI president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed he has made a £7.8million bid for Monaco right-back Fabinho.
Fabinho scored six goals for Monaco last season
The Brazilian, who has four caps for his country, shone for Monaco last term.
He scored six goals to help his side to a third-placed finish in Ligue 1.

Manchester United have reportedly been impressed with the defender and have been keeping tabs ahead of a possible summer move.
Barcelona and Napoli have also been linked with a move for the 22-year-old.

However Napoli have now moved ahead of United in the race for Fabinho after the club's present confirmed he had made an opening bid.
“Yes, we are interested in Fabinho," De Laurentiis said.
"I offered €10m [£7.8m] to Monaco in order to start negotiations."
