Southampton consider hiring Frank de Boer: Everton set to appoint Ronald Koeman
SOUTHAMPTON could move to appoint former Ajax boss Frank de Boer if manager Ronald Koeman leaves the club for Everton, according to reports.
Southampton have earmarked Frank de Boer as a candidate for their managerial post
Express Sport understands Saints boss Koeman will be given permission to speak to the Toffees if the two clubs can agree a compensation package.
And Saints are already searching for a manager in case the Dutchman heads to Goodison Park this summer.
According to The Times, Bournemouth's Eddie Howe remains their No 1 candidate for the role but De Boer is also under consideration.
And, after a long search, the Toffees now appear set to appoint Koeman so long as they stump up a reported £5million fee to Saints.
Koeman will be offered a £6m-a-year contract at Everton and Express Sport understands new owner Farhad Moshiri has set aside £100m for transfers.
As for Saints, an approach for Howe is supposedly being prepared as they seek a third new manager within two years.
Sevilla's Unai Emery, also linked with Everton, is also said to be in the running for the Saints post.
