Former coach reveals why £31m star will be perfect for Jose Mourinho at Man Utd
ERIC BAILLY will be a perfect fit in Jose Mourinho's Manchester United defence, according to his former coach.
Bailly is said to have been identified as a potential partner for Chris Smalling
Spanish newspaper AS claim United have decided to make a £31million bid for the defender as Mourinho starts to overhaul the squad at Old Trafford.
Bailly started his footballing career as a 17-year-old at Espanyol and Manolo Marquez gave him his debut for the 'B' team in 2013.
And the coach now believes a summer move to Manchester would come at an ideal time for the Villarreal centre-half.
"When I spoke to Eric, he was frustrated that he didn't play in the Europa League semifinal second leg at Liverpool against his friend Kolo Toure," Marquez added.
"Villarreal missed him; they needed his physical presence against a strong Liverpool team.
"I think he could have made a big difference because he was so good last season that he was linked with a move to Barcelona."
