Mourinho has earmarked signing a defender as a priority at Manchester United.
And former Red Devils hero Pallister thinks Stones would be great for United.
He said: “He's a young kid but I like what I see of him. There's not many better judges than Jose Mourinho.
“If he bid £40million for him [with Chelsea last season], like he did last summer, then you know the kid is an exciting talent.

“He's a player I'm sure he will look to bring into Old Trafford.
"It wouldn't be surprising to see Jose go out and spend big on a centre-half."
Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are both chasing deals for Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

The French champions are already thought to have made contact with the 23-year-old’s representatives.
And according to the Sun, a bidding war could emerge for the Brazilian.
PSG, the report suggests, value Coutinho at £25m, although it is thought he could fetch a lot more than that.
