This is why I wasn't a star at Old Trafford, claims ex-Manchester United striker
JAVIER HERNANDEZ believes he could have been Manchester United's star striker - if only he'd been given the chance.
Hernandez has finally settled at Leverkusen but felt he was underused at Manchester United
Hernandez arrived at Old Trafford from Mexican side Guadalajara in 2010 and scored 20 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions in his first season.
However, he increasingly found himself used as a substitute behind Wayne Rooney and was eventually loaned out to Real Madrid.
Even there though he rarely started in his one year in Spain and was finally sold to Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
"At Real, I started just 12 games and scored nine goals.
"At Leverkusen I’ve started 37 games and I have 26 goals.
"The difference is that Leverkusen want me on the pitch.
"The others didn’t.”
