Celtic flop exits club as Rodgers wields axe: Striker set to follow in early exodus
BRENDAN RODGERS has started his Celtic clear-out by offloading flop striker Colin Kazim-Richards to Brazilian club Coritiba.
Colin Kazim-Richards failed to impress at Celtic
The Turkey international has been a huge failure at Parkhead after scoring just twice in 13 games since joining the club on a two-and-a-half year deal in January.
Now the 29-year-old is ready to quit for Brazil as Hoops boss Rodgers starts to make his mark.
The former Feyenoord striker will be the first of many players in a bloated squad shown the door by Rodgers. Carlton Cole could be the next to leave after a miserable stint in Scottish football.
He said: “I played with Colin in 2007-08, although I’ve not seen him play since 2012.
“But he is married to a Brazilian woman and he has always talked about playing in Brazil. Now it can happen for him.”
Coritiba would become the 12th club of Kazim-Richards’ career, and will bring an end to his Hoops career just four months into his contract.
