Man United plot shock swoop for Holland star: Mourinho keen on Champions League winner
MANCHESTER UNITED are considering a surprise move for Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder, according to reports.
Wesley Sneijder has picked up 121 Holland caps, scoring 29 goals, since 2003
Jose Mourinho is expected to be appointed United manager today and it is claimed he will seek to make the Holland international one of his first signings.
The pair worked together during Mourinho’s trophy-laden spell at Italian giants Inter Milan.
"I don't give guarantees, but there are concrete offers from the Premier League, so let's see what happens."
If Sneijder completes a switch, he will add to the club’s Dutch contingent which includes Daley Blind, Memphis Depay and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
The former Ajax youngster has long been linked with a move to United and a deal will put to bed one of European football’s longest running transfer sagas.
