Leicester prepare to smash transfer record for £22m forward as flop flees the Foxes
LEICESTER are set to splash the cash to get Jamie Vardy a new strike partner.
Leicester's record signing Andrej Kramaric has left the club on a permanent basis
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is ready to smash the club transfer record to grab Nigeria international Ahmed Musa in a £22m deal.
Ranieri wants to strengthen his attacking options as he grapples with Leicester's title defence and Champions League football, and has gone back in for CSKA hitman Musa, having tried to sign him in January.
Leicester's £17m valuation was considered too low and the 23-year-old, who scored 18 goals last season, was forced to stay put.
Meanwhile, Leicester have taken a hit on former club-record signing Andrej Kramaric, who failed to make an impression.
The club's record signing joined German side Hoffenheim on a permanent deal.
The Croatia striker, 24, who joined from HNK Rijeka in a £9.7m deal in January 2015, made just five appearances for the Foxes this season before going to Hoffenheim on loan in January.
