Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers lines up move for former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard
CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers is planning an ambitious move for former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Steven Gerrard scored 186 goals in 710 appearances for Liverpool
Rodgers, who was sacked as the Reds manager in October following his side's disappointing start to the season, was installed as Hoops boss on Friday.
The 43-year-old takes the reins from outgoing Ronny Deila, who steps down after guiding Celtic to their fifth successive Premiership title.
Gerrard is contracted to the California club until 31 December 2016.
And Rodgers would need to convince his former captain to renege on that agreement or agree a price with the MLS in order to take him to Parkhead.
