West Brom's James Morrison in line to earn £16.5m as Middlesbrough eye return
MIDDLESBROUGH want James Morrison to return to the Riverside in a deal which could net the Scotland midfielder around £16.5million over four years.
James Morrison scored three goals in 18 Premier League appearances this season
Morrison, who began his career with Boro, is out of contract at West Brom and has been in talks over a new deal.
But promoted Boro, a Premier League club again after a seven-year exile, are keen to lure him back with the offer of £70,000-a-week, plus a £2m signing-on fee.
Morrison, who will be 30 on Wednesday, left Boro nearly nine years ago to join the Baggies in a move worth an initial £1.5m.
A hamstring injury sustained in a 2-2 draw at Chelsea in January, forced him to miss the second half of last season.
