Valencia move ahead of Man Utd and Chelsea in pursuit of Serie A wonderkid
VALENCIA have edged ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea in the chase for Bologna star Amadou Diawara.
Amadou Diawara joined Bologna from San Marino Calcio last summer
The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the Serie A side's star men this year, appearing in 34 games in his breakthrough season.
But Valencia have stolen a march on United and Chelsea by meeting with the player's agent Daniele Piraino.
Bayern Munich are also believed to be keeping tabs on the Guinean, as incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti seeks to add to the squad Pep Guardiola has guided to three consecutive Bundesliga titles.
Bayern have already confirmed deals for reported United targets Mats Hummels and Renato Sanches and any move for Diawara would deal a further blow to Louis van Gaal's transfer plans.
