Newcastle handed huge boost: Rafa Benitez to stay on despite Premier League relegation
NEWCASTLE will reportedly confirm Rafa Benitez as their manager for next season before the end of the week.
Rafa Benitez is now expected to stay on at Newcastle next season
Benitez signed a three-year deal to take over from Steve McClaren at St James' Park in March.
However it is believed that his deal has an early release clause in the event of the club being relegated to the Championship.
Benitez has however met owner Mike Ashley and held talks over staying on with the Magpies.
And now the Daily Mail claim the former Liverpool boss will stay on at the Tyneside club after holding positive talks.
The report adds Ashley and managing director Lee Charnley agreed to the Spaniard's demands over budget and control.
That could lead to the scouting system being revamped and chief scout Graham Carr’s departure.
