Mauricio Pochettino after signing new Tottenham deal: There will be no change to my job
MAURICIO POCHETTINO insists there will be no change to his job despite his new five-year contract making him the club’s “manager” rather than the “head coach”.
Mauricio Pochettino admits his job will remain the same at Tottenham
Despite there being a technical difference between the two roles, Pochettino feels he has been informally carrying out many of the extra duties of a manager as well as coaching the first team and was adamant that business such as transfer activity would continue to remain a collective responsibility rather than solely in his own control.
He said: “I was head coach, I am now a manager. The club decide this, but it’s the same job. I am happy but it’s not changed my role.
"We agreed it would be good for the club and myself. Manager means different thigs than head coach. I was always a manager. Maybe it better describes my job.
“The coach only looks after training and the team. I think from day one I was a manager.
