Liverpool could beat Valencia to £9.5m midfielder
LIVERPOOL are in pole position to sign Ignacio Camacho, according to reports.
Camacho is expected to leave Malaga this summer either for Valencia or Liverpool
Camacho started his career in Spain with Atletico Madrid but joined Malaga in 2010 for a little more than £1million.
And the defensive midfielder eventually came to prominence under Manuel Pellegrini and now has 153 appearances for the club in all competitions.
However, his good form this campaign has not gone unnoticed and, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Valencia are one of a number of Spanish clubs who are interested in signing him this summer.
And Camacho, 26, would represent an ideal purchase to compete for first-team minutes with the Brazilian.
Midfielder Marko Grujic, 20, will also join up with the squad this summer but given his tender years Camacho may be able to jump ahead of him in the pecking order.
