Liverpool receive another major fitness boost as defender returns to training
JOE GOMEZ has stepped up his Liverpool return.
Joe Gomez has stepped up his recovery
The defender suffered suffered a cruciate ligament injury but returned to training today after seven months out.
The 18-year-old, who started well under Brendan Rodgers this season, posted an image of him getting ready to start a session.
Gomez, though, is still not back training with the team yet.
Danny Ings who suffered an ACL was in training with the team today as was Emre Can who is expected to play against Villarreal tomorrow night.
Ings could play again this season although Gomez is unlikely to be ready.
Jordan Henderson is also likely to miss the rest of the campaign but Jurgen Klopp claimed he should be ok for Euro 2016.
“Hendo is on a good way for England,” said Klopp. “I am not too sure how good for Liverpool because he was not on the pitch until now.
“We have to see day by day how the improvement is, but he is on a good way.”
