Newcastle star: I do not regret leaving Tottenham for relegation scrap
ANDROS TOWNSEND admits he does not regret his decision to leave title contenders Tottenham for relegation battlers Newcastle.
Andros Townsend does not regret Newcastle move
The 24-year-old winger joined the Magpies in January for £12million after falling out of favour at Spurs, who sit second in the Premier League table.
Townsend was dropped to Spurs' reserves side after a reported bust-up with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner earlier in the season.
And Townsend maintains he made the right choice to join Newcastle, despite Rafa Benitez's side sitting six points from safety in 19th place with just seven games to go.
"I definitely don't have any regrets," the England international said on his St James' Park switch.
"I'm playing for a massive club and playing Premier League football. I'm playing 90 minutes of games, and I'm 100 per cent delighted with the move I made to Newcastle.

"I know footballers can be labelled as people who don't care, but you only have to look at the faces in the dressing room to see how much it does mean to us.
And on Newcastle's battle to keep their top-flight status, he added: "We're going to try our hardest to get ourselves out of the situation that we're in."
