West Ham and Liverpool are reportedly set to go head-to-head to sign Chelsea defender Nathan Ake, who is currently out on loan at Watford.
That is according to The Telegraph, who claim the Blues would demand a £10million transfer fee if they did choose to sell him in the summer.
The Premier League pair are thought to have been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old this season, in which he’s impressed in 23 outings for the Hornets so far.
Meanwhile, Football Insider report that Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is keen on re-signing Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick when the transfer window reopens.
The 34-year-old is out of contract in the summer and is yet to open talks over a new deal, but he revealed over the weekend he would like to remain at Old Trafford.
He said after Sunday’s win over Manchester City: “I haven’t heard anything just at the moment so I am not sure. I will just have to wait and see what happens. I am relaxed about it.

“I have been here a long time and I love the club. Playing games like the derby, it keeps you having that buzz and enthusiasm to play for longer, so we will wait and see what happens.”
And finally, the Daily Mirror claim Southampton are lining up a summer move to re-sign Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The England international, who is valued at around £15m, has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals West Ham, Liverpool, Manchester City and United.
