French manager explains stance over Manchester United move
ZINEDINE ZIDANE says he is not interested in moving in for Manchester United’s David De Gea this summer, insisting he has enough goalkeepers at Real Madrid already.
David De Gea almost signed for Real Madrid last summer
Real are understood to be keen on signing De Gea before the start of next season.
The Spanish giants came close to completing a transfer last September but the deal fell through at the 11th hour on deadline day.
Reports have emerged suggesting Real will trigger the player’s £30million release clause after Euro 2016 is concluded in July.
Real sold Iker Casillas to Porto last summer in a move to free up space for De Gea.
They were even willing to throw Navas into the deal as they tested United’s resolve amid speculation De Gea wanted to quit the club.
But less than a month after the transfer collapsed De Gea, 25, signed a new contract at the club worth £200,000 a week.
However, it is claimed that contract was only signed so long as the £30m buy-out clause was inserted.
