Jurgen Klopp got it wrong against Manchester City, claims Liverpool legend
JAN MOLBY admitted he would have done things differently from Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool's Capital One Cup final penalty shootout.
Molby believes Klopp should have sent James Milner up earlier in the shootout
Fernandinho had given Manchester City the lead early in the second half but Philippe Coutinho forced extra time with a close-range finish inside the last ten minutes.
But spot-kicks were required and despite Emre Can converting the first, Lucas, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana all saw Willy Caballero save their efforts.
City meanwhile missed only once from 12 yards to ensure that Vincent Kompany would be the captain lifting the trophy.
"The likes of Lucas, Coutinho, Lallana, even Can – they don’t take penalties regularly, so it was a risk.
"Once City scored their second penalty, they had Aguero, Toure and probably Bony to come.
"That was the difference in the end."
