Lionel Messi says he would eventually want to leave Barcelona
Manchester City are understood to be keen on signing Messi were he to become available.
It is understood incoming City manager Pep Guardiola would jump at the chance of singing him.
But Barca are unwilling to sell.
Messi, 28, has enjoyed another stellar season at Barca, having originally joined their academy from Newell's Old Boys in 2001.
And Messi has his heart set on winning international trophies.
"I prefer to win something with the national team," he said.
"I am not interested in records. They are there, but that does not make you win titles.
"I get upset whenever we lose with Argentina because I know that we should have won.
"We did enough to win the World Cup and the Copa America."
