Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp set to axe £32.5m flop Christian Benteke in the summer
LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp is planning to axe Christian Benteke in the summer.
Christian Benteke hasn't scored since December
Benteke joined the Reds last July for £32.5million from Aston Villa and has scored seven goals in 31 appearances for the club.
But the Belgian international has not found the back of the net in 2016, with his last strike coming against Sunderland in December.
He was not used in yesterday's Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City, with Divock Origi brought on from the bench by Klopp instead.
“If you get him inside the box more, he’ll get chances because he is a good finisher and I think he can play in the Liverpool system.
“I went seven games without scoring for Liverpool once, and I got dropped even though we’d won five and drawn two.
“What he has to do is get in the box, you have to be selfish and score goals."
