Fears mount for Arsenal and England star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after scan
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN may miss Euro 2016 as fears grow over a knee ligament injury he sustained in Arsenal's Champions League clash with Barcelona on Tuesday.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's injury could rule him out of key Arsenal and England games
Oxlade-Chamberlain, 22, was subbed off 50 minutes into the 2-0 first-leg defeat at the Emirates.
There were immediate concerns he could be out for some time after being spotted leaving the ground on crutches.
The midfielder is said to have injured his knee and ankle after going in for a challenge with Barca's Javier Mascherano.
And in a further blow for Oxlade-Chamberlain, his chances of being selected for Euro 2016 appear to have taken a hit.
The Euros in France kick off for England on 11 June with a group clash against Russia in Marseille.
England have two friendlies, against Germany and Holland, lined up for the international break next month.
Arsenal's worst kits
The Daily Mirror claim that, if Oxlade-Chamberlain were to miss those games, it will be difficult for him to earn a place in Roy Hodgson's squad for the summer championships - regardless of whether or not he is fit by then.
Oxlade-Chamberlain played in all four of England's qualifiers last autumn as the Three Lions progressed to France with a 100 per cent record from their group.
