Chinese Super League makes stunning £100m bid for Man United captain Wayne Rooney
MANCHESTER UNITED captain Wayne Rooney is reportedly the subject of a £100million bid from the Chinese Super League.
Wayne Rooney is the subject of a huge bid from China
Rooney, 30, is the man the CSL is desperate to land after embarking on an incredible spree since the turn of the year.
Ramires, Alex Teixeira and Jackson Martinez all moved to China in huge deals.
And Rooney could be next, according to the Daily Mirror.
One club, thought to be Shanghai Shenua, are said to have tabled a £27m bid with a three-year deal worth £500,000-a-week on offer.
Rooney has been at United since 2004 and is set for a testimonial this summer.
He has two years on his contract at Old Trafford and is closing in on the record to become the club's top scorer.
The injury he suffered against Sunderland, which has ruled him out for up to two months, appears to have stopped him breaking Sir Bobby Charlton's record this term.
Rooney is five behind Charlton but is not likely to play again until the end of April.

Rooney has resisted moves from United in the past and has a young family, so it is uncertain whether he'd move now.
But with China coming at the world's top players with huge sums of money it shows their ambition.
Ezequiel Lavezzi joined Hebei China Fortune this week on £400,000-a-week.
