Hazard replacement? Chelsea eye shock swoop for Real Madrid star
CHELSEA have set their sights on a move for Toni Kroos, according to reports.
Toni Kroos could be on the move in the summer
The 26-year-old has become a mainstay for Real Madrid ever since he joined from Bayern Munich in 2014.
Manchester United made an attempt to sign the German in January, but he resisted their overtures.
The Blues are gearing up for a major overhaul of their squad in the summer, and the likes of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa could leave.
According to Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Chelsea have identified Kroos as key to kickstarting the Stamford Bridge revolution.
There was a leak over Kroos’ contract, which suggested the 26-year-old has a £233million buy-out clause.
And it is thought the Blues would have to stump up an astronomical sum for his signature.
Kroos is currently contracted with Real until 2020.
