Pochettino speaks out over Tottenham striker deal amid medical reports
MAURICIO POCHETTINO insists Tottenham are not on the verge of signing Fulham striker Moussa Dembele - despite reports he is having a medical at the club.
Moussa Dembele is expected to join Fulham before the transfer deadline
Spurs are believed to have beaten off interest from Manchester United for 19-year-old Dembele.
The forward has scored 11 goals for Fulham this season as the Cottagers seek to avoid relegation to League One.
The deal is expected to be done before transfer deadline day and could be Spurs’ second agreement in a week after midfielder Mousa Demebele signed a new contract at White Hart Lane yesterday.
Asked ahead of today’s FA Cup clash with Colchester about a bid for Dembele, Pochettino told BT Sport: “There are always rumours, we will see what happens.
“I am delighted that [the other] Dembele has signed a new contract.”
The Press Association claim Dembele is having a medical and that he is likely to rejoin Fulham on loan for the rest of the season.
