Liverpool's Capital One Cup hero Joe Allen desperate for more minutes from Jurgen Klopp
JOE ALLEN is hoping to propel himself to the forefront of Jurgen Klopp’s plans at Liverpool following his latest crucial cameo.
Joe Allen has made just seven Premier League appearances for Liverpool this term, starting once
The midfielder dispatched the winning penalty as Liverpool reached the Capital One Cup Final, but has so far endured a frustrating season after being continually overlooked for a regular starting role by Klopp despite the inconsistencies of his side.
Allen has started just one Premier League game and having previously started every game in the League Cup found himself back on the bench for the second leg clash with Stoke on Wednesday.
He was to step off the sidelines to score the winning penalty which sealed a trip to Wembley on February 28, his contribution following a last minute equaliser against Arsenal recently and a man-of-the-match performance in the first leg of the Stoke tie.
Allen is out of contract in the summer of 2017 and has not held recent talks over a new deal. In the meantime, he is trying to persuade Klopp to give him a more meaningful role.
