Revealed: Louis van Gaal offered to resign as Manchester United manager
LOUIS VAN GAAL offered to step down from his managerial position on Saturday, according to reports.
Louis van Gaal reportedly offered to resign after Saturday's defeat to Southampton
The Dutch boss was booed by the Old Trafford faithful at the weekend as Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton, courtesy of Charlie Austin's late strike.
Prior to defeat against Saints, United had gone five games in all competitions without a loss, that also saw them record 1-0 win over rivals Liverpool.
But after Saturday's miserable performance the pressure was piled back on Van Gaal's shoulders, leaving the 64-year-old to offer his resignation.
