European giants to hijack Manchester United move for striker following transfer ban
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN will reportedly rival Manchester United for the signing of Neymar this summer - because they cannot sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both Manchester United and PSG want Neymar
French champions PSG were thought to be keen on landing 30-year-old Ronaldo at the end of the season.
They were willing to pay the Portugal ace a £500,000-a-week contract.
But Real will not countenance selling their star man when they cannot sign a replacement.
It was believed United were even prepared to trigger the player's £143million release clause.
But Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim they will struggle to match the financial might of oil-rich club PSG and that the Ligue 1 side are now favourites to secure Brazil international Neymar.
PSG are set to lose Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the end of the season when his contract expires and want to sign a Madrid-like 'Galactico'.
