Liverpool survived a scare at Exeter to draw 2-2 on Friday night, with manager Jurgen Klopp bemoaning the number of games his side have played.
Klopp made 11 changes from the side that beat Stoke in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
"If teams aren't going to bother taking the competition seriously they should let fans know and tell them not to bother buying tickets.
"You can't tell me Liverpool needed to make as many changes as they did.
"Swansea made 10 changes and got what they deserved.
"We shouldn't buy into it when a manager says 'x needs a rest.'
"No they don't."
