Arsenal Transfer News: £38m Liverpool bid, Barca eye Gunners ace, Wenger says 'deal close'
EXPRESS SPORT brings you all the latest transfer news coming from the Emirates Stadium.
Liverpool look to beat Arsenal to midfielder Granit Xhaka
According to German publication Bild, Liverpool are hoping to beat Arsenal to the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka with a £37.6million bid.
The news will likely come as a blow to Arsene Wenger, who has been keeping tabs on the Switzerland international as a replacement for the injured Francis Coquelin.
Meanwhile, Express Sport understands Barcelona are lining up a double raid on the Premier League for Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey and Everton's John Stones.
The Spanish giants, whose manager Luis Enrique is a big fan of Ramsey, are prepared to spend in the region of £50m to land the Gunners midfielder.
Barca have been keeping tabs on the Welshman since the summer, but have been unable to make a move until this month due to a transfer embargo in the two previous transfer windows.
