Manchester United close in on £30m international defender
MANCHESTER UNITED have stepped up their interest in Wolfsburg defender Ricardo Rodriguez, according to reports.
Ricardo Rodriguez has been linked with a £30m move to Old Trafford
United have been linked with the Switzerland international since Luke Shaw's season-ending leg break - picked up in the Champions League last year.
The injury was a huge set-back for Louis van Gaal and left the club worringly short in defence, leading to reports of a £30million move for Rodriguez in the German press.

Rodriguez is instead focusing on Wolfsburg as they make a push for the Champions League places, currently sitting in seventh in the Bundesliga table.
"I thought my performance in the first half [of the season] was not too bad, but I can do better," he added.
"Right now I'm symptom-free. Now is the time to get fit and there are only six points to the Champions League spots."
