Guus Hiddink's side were preparing for their FA Cup tie with Scunthorpe on Sunday when the bust-up happened.
But the Brazilian international took to Twitter to diffuse the situation, insisting that Costa is one of his best friends.
He tweeted: "Those who are saying that Diego Costa and I had a fight today in training is lying, he is one of my best friends and we would never fight."
