Confirmed: Manchester United complete first deal ahead of January transfer window
MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has joined Preston North End on a 28-day loan.
Sam Johnstone will be at Preston on a month long deal
The 22-year-old returns to Deepdale having spent the second-half of last season at the club.
Johnstone's move follows Jordan Pickford's recall back to Sunderland by Sam Allardyce.
Preston boss Simon Grayson said: "The disappointment of him [Jordan] going back is balanced out by the positive news that we have been able to sign Sam Johnstone on a 28-day loan.
"He is someone we know well and tried to sign in the summer.
