Leeds 'reluctantly' allow Sky to broadcast Championship clash with Derby after dispute
LEEDS have agreed to "reluctantly" allow Sky TV to broadcast Tuesday's Championship game against Derby, having initially barred cameras from Elland Road.
Massimo Cellino had threatened to stop Sky production staff from covering the game
The club had threatened to stop Sky production staff covering the game with owner Massimo Cellino claiming that live TV coverage undermines his club’s attendances and commercial income.
But the club have now announced they will "reluctantly" allow Sky to cover the game.
Leeds have been shown live on Sky Sports nine times already this season and had their Boxing Day draw at Nottingham Forest moved to Sunday 27 December to cater for TV audiences.
A statement on the club's website said: "The Football League regulations are supposed to be there to protect the integrity of the sporting competition, not to be used as a stick to beat the club on behalf of Sky.
