Newcastle, Southampton and Watford rocked as West Brom make contact for Tottenham star
WEST BROM have made contact with Tottenham over the availability of winger Andros Townsend.
West Brom enter race to sign Tottenham's Andros Townsend
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim Baggies boss Tony Pulis will need to offload one of his players in order to sign him in January due to financial restrictions.
Spurs are reportedly willing to listen to offers, but are not prepared to part with the 24-year-old on loan as they look to secure a permanent deal.
Townsend has been dropped to the reserves this season after making just three substitute appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s first team.
Earlier this month, former Saints striker Gordon Watson urged St Mary’s boss Ronald Koeman to win the race for Townsend’s services in January.
“Clubs should be looking to sign anyone who has a point to prove, and Andros Townsend certainly has that,” Watson told the Daily Echo.
“He can turn defence into attack in a matter of seconds. The only pace we really have is when (Sadio) Mane is on the ball, or down the left with Ryan Bertrand.”
